Ok, Becca took this shot, it's a pic of the shelf above my table in the dinning room. As I posted it, I notice what looks like "texture" on the wall behind the shelf. I'm guessing it has something to do w/the light from the multiple bulbs in the chandelier but it still looks freaky!!!

Weird, now I don't see the lines. Nevermind!

Weird day today. I did a little laundry but, spent most of the day asleep!! I was sooooo tired. at about 3 or so, Scott decided he wanted to go to Target & I had to go with him. He had a coupon for the movie "the proposal" that expires TODAY. Well, the Target in Alton didn't have the movie on Blu Ray. He suggested we drive to Edwardsville & try the Target and Best Buy there. I explained that I had to get home to make dinner. If he wanted to go, we'd have to eat out. Even tho the kids & I had eaten every meal out since Wednesday, he agreed.

These are cheese curds from Culvers. Becca gets curds w/her meal & Nick & I get fries. We dump them in the middle of the table (Scott doesn't share w/us as he hates curds!) and we all share. I prefer the cheddar, Becca doesn't care as long as they are small and I really don't think Nick eats the curds at all, he just likes to share. LOL

We did finally get the movie at Best Buy. Target had it but would not accept the Internet coupon. Best Buy took it w/o a problem. I also found Risky Business on BD for $10!

A tree in my neighborhood. We have such pretty trees around here. Mine is not changing much but this one on the next block is. So pretty!!!

I'm fascinated with clouds. We've been having stormy weather and the threat of thunderstorms for days (not much rain tho). These were taken when we got home from school this afternoon. I love them!

Day 198

Is this July?? In St. Louis??? Unseasonably NICE weather for July. Of course, our pool membership is going unused but it's SO WORTH IT!!! Our A/C has been off for 2 days & may get to stay off for 2 more days!! YEA!! I love sleeping w/the windows open.

Day 169

Today was the most vacation-y day of the week. Becca spent the night in Bolivar w/Marissa. Nick and I were at the hotel alone most of the day. We walked to Subway for lunch & then to the pool.

Before we went down the pool, Nick said there was lots of "stuff" in the pool. I told him to call down to the front desk & ask if the pool was open (at the time I was not where I could look at the pool & determine what kind of "stuff" he was talking about.) He called & they said it was open. I looked out the window a few minutes later & there was a man in a sport coat & tie skimming the pool!! It had to be in the mid 90s at the time! I guess that Nick's call had gotten management to go look and determine the pool needed to be cleaned. When we got down there, I determined that the pool needed to be SHOCKED. Blucky cloudy water. Nick had fun. I tried to only get into the water when I was too hot to stay OUT of the water.

Later in the afternoon, mom, dad & Becs came back up from Bolivar and we had the BEST dinner at Outback. My steak was perfect (no easy feat given how particular I am about my steak!!), the potato was awesome, the bread & the soda were refilled w/o us having to ask! Mom & dad left after dinner & Scott took the kids & I to Best Buy. He figured they needed a Christmas in June present. Becca got the Pirates of the Caribbean Trilogy on BluRay & Nick got GH Smash Hits. Scott also bought 2 movies on BD for us; The Siege & Groundhog Day.

Day 138

Finally, a picture of Becca!! Nick had Alex over and they rented a video game from Blockbuster ($8.95???? What's up with that???) Since they got a game, Becca wanted a movie. Redbox, always a buck and I had a free coupon. And no, after we returned the movie, I did NOT break down & get fries & a diet coke. Might have WANTED to but I was a good girl!

Day 108

Anyway, Sue had her monthly stamp camp today. I love driving thru Elsah any time of year. It's such a cute little town. Get used to seeing more pics of the town each month. Hmmm, I see an album in my future: Elsah, all thru the year.

Isn't this a pretty sunrise. I guess this is an advantage DST, I'm driving while the sun is coming up & pretty. For now at least....

Homemade Coconut Cream Pie!! YUM!! I LOVE CCP. I posted a month or so ago about buying one from Josephine's. It wasn't very good. So I made my own. I think the difference is the crust. It needs a substanial crust w/enough salt to counteract the richness.

I cut the pie VERY CROOKED tonite. Oh well, since I'm the only one eating it, doesn't matter

Day 18

Well, it's the end. End of Sunday football. Yes, I know there is still the Super Bowl but, that's different. I will no longer be a football widow. I will no longer have something to sleep thru (I'm sure I can find something). Dh will be available on Sunday afternoons for other projects. Until Spring Training games start.

Can you see the Hubby decorating touches? The books of baseball cards? The Cubby bear? The Cubs blanket? The framed pic o Wrigley Field above the baseball cards? Above the TV, there is a cross stitch pic of a Cubby Bear & a Football Bear. I made it for Scott when we were still dating. Technically, the big screen, HD tv is dh's contribution so he can see the baseball games in HD. Guess what? WGN is NOT in DH thru DirecTV.
