Day 297

Went by my brother's house today. It's still not a house but you can tell at least what the basement's going to be like. It was sooooo nice out there. Started to spit a bit of rain but still a nice day. He's going to love living there I'm sure!

Day 268

Three months til Christmas & I'm putting my fall decorations up. I usually wait until 10/1 to put up my Halloween decor & fall stuff but it's been so cool out that it just felt like time. I love fall and LOVE my decorations.

Day 237

I don't think I'm going to take anymore VB pics. I can't figure out how to adjust my camera or if there is even an adjustment to make. Having said all that & even tho this pics is so out of focus, I really DIG IT!!! Shows the girls really playing, not just standing there waiting for the ball. Although it does appear the Kayla is afraid of the ball. This ball did hit & the other team got the point but we still kicked Christan School Butt!! JV won in 2 straight games & V also won in 2 straight. It's gonna be a FUN year!!!

Day 205

Yesterday, Debi has Carpal Tunnel surgery. So, what do you do your first day post-op?? Have a SU Party of course!! Yes, she knew she it would be the day after her surgery when she booked the party. She's a real trooper!!! We had a great time & made some really cool cards and had a great time!

Day 176

No, I'm not about to dump this entire trashcan over while you sit at the computer. I'm a good kitty & would NEVER do anything like that. Just go ahead, turn around, play Farm Town. I'll be real good. Yeah, right!

Day 145

What a Memorial Day! Rain, rain, rain & more rain! No pool, no BBQ, no nothing!! Oh well, I LOVE rain!! And I'm not too fond of BBQ (although it always smells AWESOME when someone else in the neighborhood is doing it!) and I'm so not ready for the pool. Plus, holidays bring out the drinkers & they make me uncomfortable so, I usually stay away anyway. Stayed in & made ATCs, watched the season finale of Criminal Minds (so ICKY & the cliffhanger ending has been so overdone! Of course he's not going to die!) and then watched the Cubs lose. At least the managed to score some runs!!!

I guess the rain made this little guy come out. He was stuck to the sliding glass door and driving Jack NUTS!!! He wandered up & down & across the window, just having a good ole' time. I'm sure he knew that Jack was going crazy trying to get him. And he knew he was safe. Cats are fun (sometimes!) (Again, I apologize for the bad pics. Low light thru glass. I really, really need a class in this camera!)

Day 115

On Saturday, we all got up & headed for the Stamp Store & Archivers. We had discount coupons for BOTH!! Chelsea, Angie, Kim, Sherri & I were on the Fast Track. Quick hits, lunch & back to the hotel to play! Jan, Cheryl, Cheryl, Amy & Nancy were also on the fast track but they seemed to want to look around alot more at the first store so we left 'em. Daylights burning!!!

We leave this store & head for Achivers. But, won't it save us time if we stop for lunch. We have lunch at chilis; it was Yummy!! Then, across the street to the mall & Archivers. But wait, what's that?? It's a cow limo! A Cow Limo??? Yes, it was!!! Scary! And too funny for words. We just about wet our pants (and laughed even when Chelsea got clotheslined by a tree branch).

So, we get to Archivers & miss Jan & Co by minutes but run into Robyn & her sister (who's name I have totally forgotten!). We do our Archiver's shopping & get ready to leave Ft. Wayne but Chels needs gas. On the way to the gas station, we see a Dairy Queen. We fill up w/gas & then got BACK to the DQ for ice cream for everyone (but Kim). We FINALLY make it back to the hotel 5 hours later??? How is that the fast track. And Jan & Co? They are back like 2 hours before us. But, I wouldn't trade ONE SECOND of the time we were gone. These girls are too much fun! And, how often will you EVER see a cow limo??????

(BTW, my camera battery died after the pic at the LSS. So no more pics for Suzi except for what her friends share with her :( The cow limo is from Chelesea's cell phone!)

Day 84

As far as I'm concerned, this is WAY TOO RELAXED!! Jack, show some modesty!!

Day 56

I posted this on my Facebook account & thought I'd use it for my picture of the day.

This is my "light gun". I can not toss out a $2 set of Christmas lights! I have to fix them! I had a little $3 light tester that I used but the batteries went dead. In past years, it has been cheaper & easier to replace the tester than the batteries. Well, this year I couldn't find a replacement tester so I bought this fancy pants (expensive!) thing. I thought it was a bunch of bunk!! Well, the first time I used it, IT WORKED!!!

You plug an empty light socket into the gun (just in front of the trigger) and pull the trigger. Sometimes you have to pull it a few times. Then, usually, the whole set magically lights up. Then, you can replace the burnt out bulbs & all is good. I figure it must be satan's work but dad says it's all understandable & proceeded to explain it to me. It's satan's work!! It doesn't always work (I had to toss a set of white lights that I keep on year round above my cabients earlier this week.) but it works often enough to make me happy. Plus, if this gun doesn't fix the lights, I figure I can now toss them w/o guilt!

Day 25

Here is today's pic. And, there is a huge long story to go with it.

My kids are responsible for cleaning the litter box. One week Becca does it, the next, Nick. Needless to say, they aren't thrilled w/the job. Nick accepts it better than Becca but Becca does a better job. LOL.

So, last week was Becca's week. She and Jack (the cat) have a love/hate relationship. She likes him when he's asleep and is TERRIFIED when he's awake. To be fair, Jack does seem to chase her a bit more than any of the rest of us. So, when it's her week to clean the poopy, she yells, screams, runs and generally tries to lock him away from her while she's completing the job. Usually, that just means closing the door from the family room to the laundry room thus keeping Jack out of the garage where the litter box is. Apparently, she either decided to lock the kitty door or by coincidence it got locked. But, for several days, Jack was locked away from his potty. Neither Scott nor I realized this. Jack was extremely vocal but, it's not like he was standing at the door crying. He sat in the family room & whined.

So, Thursday afternoon I'm tired & cranky & I sneak out of work early. Scott meets me at the door when I get home. This is NOT a good sign. He has discovered that Jack was locked out of the garage and his discovered that Jack finally couldn't hold it anymore & he pottied in the laundry room. Somewhere. So, being as Jack is "my cat" (just means he doesn't want to take care of him), I have to find the poopy (behind a roll of gift wrap), clean it up, wash the items that were under the poopy and spray the room to rid it of the delightful smells of kitty crap.

Ok, seems odd that Jack would have pooped but not peed anywhere. We're thinking that maybe he was only locked out for a couple hours & that's why we can't find the pee. We notice that Jack will not sleep in his kitty bed. He doesn't sleep in it during the summer but during the winter, he loves it. So, Scott tries to put him in his bed. He immediately jumps out. Scott puts him in again, out again. Finally, Scott picks up the pillow in the bed to turn it over & the whole thing is wet. Jack used his bed for a litter box?!?!?!! WEIRD.

All this to say that we pitched the old bed & bought Jack a brand new kitty bed! He's having problems getting used to it & won't go in there volunentarily. If we put him in it, and he's sleepy (he's a cat, when is he NOT sleepy?) he'll stay in there & sleep. I guess time will tell if he will get used to it or not.

BTW, we are now checking the kitty door several times a day to make sure it's open.
