Day 360

This cat has been around the neighborhood for MONTHS. He/She doesn't appear to be a stray but I have no idea where he/she belongs. Maybe he/she IS a stray but is visiting Sherri's home for wayward cats (my friend who lives in the neighborhood has a "family" of strays that she feeds and, when she can catch them, "fixes") Anyway, we refer to this cat as "Jack's Girlfriend" although I don't see any LOVE between the 2 of them. Jack goes nuts when he sees her/him and he/she does the same. He/she's snarling at Jack thru the window here.

My kids have always referred to this has as the "pumpkin house". They used to do more and used to always have festivness on the "gates" flanking their driveway. I guess they are getting older and don't do as much anymore :(

The leaves are falling. This is the tree in my neighbors yard. Much more impressive looking than mine. Have I mentioned how much I LOVE fall????

Sorry, more sleeping cat pics (clearly, these are the "cat" days of summer!). Once again, goofy pants here won't sleep in his bed. His spot dujour is under the kids game table in the basement. I don't know if he thinks he's hidden from Nick here or it just seemed like a quiet spot. I do think he's SO CUTE asleep. Sorry, I had to take another pic of him!

Day 147

More clouds & rain! Actually, when I took this pic of the clouds churning overhead, I figured we were going to get SLAMMED w/bad weather. We had HEAVY rain but it wasn't so bad. Didn't even take out the satellite. I think we had one lightening bolt & I don't recall any thunder.

We may be done with rain for a bit. They are predicting better weather (although cool) for tomorrow & warming up by the weekend. Nick is DYING to get to the pool. I keep telling him it's way to cold to get into the FREEZING water but, he's 12; he knows EVERYTHING!!! Hoping I can get the key tomorrow & I'll let him learn for himself.

Day 117

No matter how old my kids get, they still look so cute when they're asleep. Nick went downstairs to watch TV today. I called him a couple of times but he didn't answer. When I went down to check on him, I found him crashed out on the couch. Guess he needed some sleep??

Day 86

I made Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats today. I LOVE these treats (HATE regular RKT!!) Well, apparently my spatula doesn't like PBRKT cause, while I was spreading the mixture in the pan, the spatula snapped in half. I haven't bought new spatulas in YEARS. Last time, I had a hard time finding the Rubbermaid brand. I hope I can find them now or I'll have to buy Pampered Chef ones & I know they are PRICEY!!!

day 27

We were supposed to get a huge storm yesterday. Well, we got sleet overnight. There was supposed to be more snow in the morning so all the schools were canceled, just in case. Nothing happened all day. We did get about an inch and a half of sleet. Seems like we never get snow anymore. Cold weather, yes. Ice, yes. Snow, not so much. Global warming at work?? If I buy a Prius & replace my light bulbs w/CFLs, will I get more snow???
