Day 277

Today is my Mother-in-law's Birthday. We took her out to Pasta House. The kids & I got our usual toasted ravioli but the were BURNED and very hard to eat. We tried to get them re-done but the manager told us their fryer was broke & had been for a month. She could redo the order but they probably wouldn't be any better than what we got :( Bummer. My MIL loved her dinner tho & that was the whole point, right?

Day 248

The tourney was a double elimination tournament. So, the first 2 teams (Agape & Bethel) had a bye for the first game. The 2 teams who lost were eliminated but the other 2 went on to play the top 2 teams. We beat Missisippi Valley & Agape beat COS.
So, the first game today was those winners playing against each other. Seems like that would have been the championship, right? No. We lost both games to Agape w/the same score 24-26. So, COS & MVCS played each other; MVCS won. So, we played MVCS & won in 2 straight.
Then, we went BACK to face Agape. We won the first set in 2 straight (both nail biters!!) Then, we had to play another set 'cause now we both had lost 1 set in the brackets. Talk about 2 teams trying to KILL each other (in a good Christian way!) It was back & forth & back & forth & back & forth. We won the first game by a couple points. They won the second by nearly 10 points. On to the tie breaker. 15 points for all the marbles. WE WON!!!!! 15-7!!! The girls were SO HAPPY!!!! On to the Pana tournament next week. WOOOHOOO!!

Day 216

The kids & I walked to Chick-fil-a today. We LOVE CFA!! The walk was a little longer, it was a little warmer , there was a hill that was not noticeable when driving & there was no crosswalk for the 4 lane "road" we had to cross to get there but, when we got there, it was SOOOOO GOOD!!!

I saw this little stuffed animal and had to get it. Nick thought it was too cute and Becca thought it was scary beyond all reason. I'm sure if Scott "knew" about it, he'd think it was stupid to spend $5 on. I'm happy! LOL

Day 186

As part of our Stay-cation, we decided that going to the movies was a good plan. And, what better kind of movie than a DRIVE-IN!?!?! Such fun. I remember going to drive-ins as a kid and as a teen. I don't think Scott & I ever went to a drive-in while we were dating.
We loaded the lawn chairs into the van, packed a cooler, popped popcorn & then drove nearly an hour to Litchfield for the movie. They were showing both Up & Imagine That. None of us really cared to see Imagine That so we left after Up. I'd give it 4 stars out o 5. Not the best of Pixar but pretty good! And who wouldn't like Kevin???

Day 156

As my shackie friends know, I'm not a fan of either home-made rice krispie treats or marshmallows for that matter! (Ask Sherri about her chasing me around the camp fire w/a marshmallow on a stick!) But, my family loves them (RKT) and every once in a while, I have to overcome my fear of those freaky, sticky, white cylinders & make the treats!

So, I made them but I didn't cut them; everyone cut whatever size they wanted. this was the last "piece" left in the pan. Scott decided it looked like a toothbrush. I thought it looked like the state of Idaho (ok, maybe not a WHOLE lot like it but, you see where I got it, right?) Scott then offered Oklahoma (much more accurate than Idaho) or the letter P. What do YOU see in your RKT???

Day 125

Current update of the little tree at the kids' school. It's really coming along. It's so much smaller than all the rest of the trees lining the parking lot. I wonder what it'll look like by the time Nick graduates in 6 years?

Day 95

Last night, I was trying to get around the plant & the stinking useless treadmill (which isn't even in a spot that I can hang clothes on) and I decided to push the plant out of my way w/my foot. Needless to say, the plant tumped over instead of moving. Dirt & drity water all over the place. BLUCK. I hate this plant. It's fine during the summer when it's outside but there is NO PLACE inside or a giant hibiscus. It's Scott's plant!!!

Day 64

This is my waterproof camera case. I LOVE it so much!! I can take pics at the pool, I can take pics at the waterpark, I can take pics at the beach & not worry!!! It's actually my 2nd case. My camera & case were stolen from poolside at a hotel in Springfield, MO. Made me very sad (made hubby VERY VERY sad as he still hadn't paid the camera off!) I had to wait until my b'day to get a new camera & had to wait until the following summer to get another case.
(This case has been hanging on the coat rack since our last pool visit last summer. Today, I finally decided that maybe it's time to put it away. Before the pool opens this year. LOL)

Day 36

I can not keep the day # & the date straight. Would help if I would do one post a day!!

On Thursday, we still had snow. It was pretty much confined to the southern side of the house where Mr. Holman's house cast a shadow. It's supposed to get into the high 50s on Friday so, we'll see what's left.
By the way, on Monday, the StL groundhog DID see his shadow. If 50 is 6 more weeks of winter, I think at least my hubby will be happy! I'm still hoping or more snow days. We've passed the 5 day mark so all other snow days are considered an "act of God" and we don't have to make them up!!

Day 5

Hmmm, is this table a metaphor for my life?? This is my scrap/stamp table. Sad, huh?? Needless to say, I have not worked on anything for a few days. So much for my resolve to clean up after my projects. On the plus side, all the Christmas stuff is down & put away. Well, almost all. I realized that my lighted garland is still up (and lit & pretty!) I'll take it & the C'mas cards down later (today, this week, this month??) Scott put all the snowflake lights up (I'll take pics later) and I got almost all the snowmen out. But, for now, I have to do laundry!! My new washer FINALLY got here. I'm on load #2.
