Day 343

Made peanut brittle today. I LOVE the way it changes from a clear liquid to a tan solid when you add the butter & baking soda. I love peanut brittle!!!

Can't you just see him saying "I know I'm not supposed to be on the couch but it doesn't matter as I could KILL you easily while you sleep!"

Birthday celebration dinner tonite at Chillis. These are berries on a tree outside the restaurant. I thought they looked cool!

Day 253

Becs had another VB game tonite. This gym is basically is only as big as a basketball court. So, we were pretty much sitting ON TOP of the players!! Becca played in the 2nd JV game and we won in 2 straight. Then, she played in the FIRST varsity game. She was RIGHT IN FRONT of us for the whole time she played. Do you think I could have gotten a good pic of her???? No, I only got one w/her eyes closed!! ARGH!!!

I have NO IDEA what this is a pic of. Must be me moving the camera as it took a shot. Since I didn't have anything better........

Day 221

Volleyball has started. It actually started last week when we were in KC. 8-10 every morning. Gets us in the groove when school starts next week. Becca LOVES VB. I get so stressed just watching her. I was never good at sports & particularly bad at VB!! I'm glad she likes it & she is getting better. Since there are only 7 high schoolers this year, she SHOULD get more playing time!! Should is the KEY word. We'll see.

Day 191

Did you know that today was Cow Appreciation Day??? Me neither. But, if you dressed as a cow today, you got a free meal at Chick Fil A. We were at the mall & decided to stop for lunch. Since we all love CFA, we stopped. This cow was wandering the food court, scaring little children and posing for pics. I don't know why he/she looks very sad to me.

Day 161

This is a close up of the day-lilies my neighbor planted around our mailboxes. I'm not a HUGE day-lily fan (don't dig anything that yellow) but they do brighten the mailboxes up (and hides the giant electrical box thingie behind them). Notice the little ant?? I can't get away from those 6-legged buzzards!!!

Bonus pic of the day! Jack had some friends over this morning. He was going BUGGY trying to get outside and get these little guys. I'm guessing they were eating the strawberry plants on the side of the house. Scott won't so I guess someone has to.

Day 130

Happy Mother's Day!!!

We spent part of the day with Scott's mom. We went to Pasta House for dinner (free spaghetti for Andy & Me and free CHEESECAKE!!!) and then back to her house to do some lawn work. While Scott worked outside, I tried to "fix" her computer. There were a couple of glitches. Then, I helped Scott finish the lawn while the kids spent some time with their grandma!

Afterwards, we went home to watch the Cubs win (finally! But, the Cards won too :( ) Then, being it was Mom's day, I left Scott home alone & took the kids to the mall. We went back & picked Scott up and ate at Jack in the Box! YUM!!! Afterwards, we went to Target & walked off dinner. It was a very good day!

Day 100

Scott was cleaning out our "dining out" coupons this morning and found an expired coupon for Laser Tag. Instead of just throwing it out and moving on, he suggested we take the kids to play for the day and they could each bring a friend. Nick called Alex; still asleep. Becca called Crystal; still asleep. Apparently, my kids are the only ones in the country that actually get up BEFORE noon. Nick finally got ahold of Alex but Becs never got Crystal.

So, we piled in the van, picked Alex up & headed for The Edge in Belleville. Since it was a holiday (Good Friday), they had unlimited tagging for $12, as opposed to 2 games for $14. The kids only ended up playing 3 games 'cause they make you wait a game in between (how else are you supposed to spend 100s of $$$ on video games?) but the boys had a great time. Becca, not so much as she had to play w/the boys! We promised her we'd come back during the summer with a girl friend so she can have fun too. Only 17 more days of school!?!?!

Day 69

Remember this little tree? Yesterday, I went to the kids' school & noticed little buds. I guess the tree will come out of it & be fine. Covered in snow, I wasn't so sure. Stay tuned for more updates as the spring progresses!

Day 41

Nick's last basketball game. The couch (finally??) put the "b" team players in w/the "a" team. All the boys played, played a long time & got a chance to make a basket. Unfortunately, none of them made it but I'm sure they all had a great time!

Ok, this picture shows that I clearly need help taking pics at ball games (now that VB & BB is over!) I can't get good action shots unless I use the manual setting. The problem is I can't zoom in w/o loosing clarity. I thought I'd be able to crop & zoom AFTER the pic was taken; I can't. Even the fancy pants PSE7 doesn't help. Any thoughts???

Day 10

WINTER!!! It's gonna be a COLD week this week. On Thursday, our low is supposed to be -6!!!!! And where will Scott be spending this delightful StL winter week?? Tulsa. How do you type a rasberry?

This photo does not show how cool my coat rack is. Last summer, I had one of those coat tree things. Worked well but was so big & bulky. I was at Lowe's buying something else & saw this BEAUTIUL (I'm so into brushed nickel right now, I'll buy just about anything w/it) wall mounted coat rack. Luckily, my dad was in town & "installed" it. I love it so much more than the coat tree!!
