Day 361

On Facebook, I'm a fan of Jack in the Box restaurants. Jack posted that he was bringing back the Jumbo Jack combo which is a hamburger, fries, drink & 2 (in)famous JitB tacos! YUMMMM! I told Scott we'd have to plan a trip to JitB sometime in the next few days. He checked their website & it also advertised the special. He suggested TONITE and, even tho I had planned on making Chili for dinner, I didn't argue. LOL

We went to our closet restaurant, no go. They didn't know anything about the special and refused to ask the manager or anyone in charge. Scott refused to eat there. We checked another JitB and they too had not heard of the current special. Scott refused to eat there. I suggested Taco Bell (although I do not particularly like TB) We went there & ordered our meals. The cashier informed us that we were the 100th order of the day and our meal would be FREE!!! We also ended up w/3 extra tacos 'cause they made a mistake! Woohoo. Still want the JitB deal but it's cool that we got FREE FOOD!!!

Day 300

This house is right in our neighborhood. They moved in a few years back & started doing cool things to their yard for the holidays. Makes me smile to drive by it everyday!

Day 270

My parents are in town for a few days. Mom's heading to Bangladesh and they had to come to StL to fly out of Lambert. Dad's going to stay here for a few days to take care of my "honey-dos" (although, nothing my dad did was too hard; either Scott or I could have done them!)

Anyway, they got here a day early so they could see Becca play volleyball. Unfortunately, she never made it into either of the first 3 games (2 JV, 1 V). They had to leave before the 4th game. Yes, Becca played in the 4th game. Oh well, the girls are still undefeated!!! Go Lady Knights!!!!

Day 240

Becca had a volleyball game in Pana, IL. We had NO IDEA where it was, just more than halfway to Springfield! The school gave us directions including, turn left at the grain elevator. Do you have ANY IDEA how many grain elevators there are between Litchfield and Pana???? EVERY town on Route 16 had a grain elevator. They may not have had a store or even a Casey's gas station but they had a grain elevator. This is the ACTUAL grain elevator we were supposed to turn left at. The games were really, really good; JV lost in 3, V won in 2! We have to come back here in 2 weeks for 2 days of tournament play. YIKES!!

Day 208

Bethel tree update!!! Since school's been out, there has been no update of how my little tree is doing. We had to go by and pay the first half of next year's tuition today & I KNEW I had to get a pic of the tree. He looks happy & healthy here, doesn't he?? I can't wait for fall so I can see how he looks w/his new colors!!

Day 179

Becca was messing w/my camera trying to take an extreme closeup (I won't even TELL you what she was trying to take pics of and how gross it was!!!). I showed her how to change to Macro & how to turn off the flash. She got her icky pic & the camera was still there so I took this pic: pizza dough. I think it looks cool.

Day 148

FINALLY!! A nice day w/no rain & no overbearing humidity. Scott & Nick went outside to shoot some hoops. Nick's skills are improving. He's not ready for the bigs yet but he might be able to hold his own in basketball this fall. He does need to practice some more!

Day 118

I thin it's time to fertilize the front yard. Of course, I SHOULD have done it a couple weeks ago! Now, it's too rainy. When we have 24 hours of clear weather predicted, I'll take care of these guys!

Edited to add: It never rained today. I could have taken care of these dandelions today after all.

Day 87

Scott's crutches. He's been having ankle issues for nearly a month now. He's had an x-ray & it shows nothing. He has an appointment with an Orthopedic guy on Thursday. Seems WAY too long to wait. Way to long to listen to him whine!

Day 59

On Friday, I finally picked all my stuff up from work. Giant box full of the things I had accumulated over 4 years. It was sad! I loved my job & miss it something terrible!

This is a pile of Mardi Gras beads I had at work. I kept them there for special occasions: St Pat's, Red White & Blue days (school colors), Halloween. I always participated in the funky school spirit events: Pajama Day, Crazy Hat day, backwards shirt day. I loved doing stuff to make the kids smile. I had vinyl clings for every holiday and put them up just to make things cheery. Now, I'm gone & I KNOW no one else will do anything like that. But, the beads look WAY COOL piled up like this!!

Day 28

Well, I got my wish! After Scott went out & tried to snowblow the 1" of sleet (didn't work!) it started snowing. Real snow. Big fluffy flakes of snow. It snowed for hours. Both my school & the kids' school canceled classes before 10pm! We woke up to a winter wonderland (I slept in until 7am!! That NEVER happens!) It was soooo pretty!

Scott had to work yesterday but was able to leave really late so he missed the icky roads. The kids and I got out to run to the Post Office, the bank, the library and the LSS (which was closed :( ). The roads were really clear. The street dept really did a great job.

Here is my favorite pic of the day tho. This time, the snowblower worked! Well!
