Day 344

Waiting. No, not for Santa. Waiting for my parents to arrive. They are coming up from Bolivar, MO to help Steve for a couple of days. This time, they are not staying with us but in the Holiday Inn. The kids are hoping to get to go & swim in the indoor pool!!! They are coming here first 'cause it's too early to check into the hotel. Looks like even Jack's excited.

Day 283

Haven't been out to my brother's property in a while. Dad wanted to know where they were & I was curious too. They have the footings in & the forms are ready & waiting for the concrete walls. Gave me a little better idea of how the house was going to look. While I will envy the completed house, I do NOT envy the work it will take to get there. He's hoping to have the outside mostly "done" by December so he can work on the inside stuff as time permits during the cold, winter months. He's hoping to be in the house by Easter. Good Luck!

Day 254

Was stuck in a long line at a stop sign on the way to the kids' school today. I looked out the window & there were these flowers. I love the look of them & the line the highways all over the place. Apparently, they are a flower that thrives on exhaust fumes & concrete dust.

Day 222

Sitting in the car, waiting for Becs at practice (seems stupid to drive all the way home just to turn around & come back in an hour. Plus, it gives me time to read. And I've done some crafting while waiting too). A field of clover by the parking lot. Liked the look of it.

Day 192

It was Stamp Camp day today but I didn't get any good shots in Elsah nor of the river. So, I got this shot of a HOUSE on the way to take Nick to a b'day party at the Y in Edwardsville. I figured it had to be a business or a country club or something but it's a single family home. These are not that common where I live, let me tell you. There are some big houses in E'ville (and some gorgeous historic old homes too) but this one shocked me!

Day 162

Sorry, more Jack pics. When you have a crazy cat in the house, what are you supposed to do?? I'm guessing Jack must have wanted a cold drink and thought he could get one out of this (empty) soda box. Silly cat played inside that box for 10 minutes. All you could see was his FAT rear end.

Day 131

This is Scott's baby! He loves this thing. I guess it's a guy thing. Personally, I'd rather use a push mower. On the front yard. I won't do the backyard, at all!! So, if he needs a riding mower for the back, I guess I won't complain.

I love to mow the front tho. It's flat & level & has a higher grass to weed ratio. LOL So yesterday, in the nice weather, I mowed the front. I love the smell of grass & the look of a nicely mowed lawn. I'd still prefer a push mower (Like to do the diagonal pattern in the grass; can't do it on a rider!) but, I guess I'll "suffer" thru this thing.

(Do you like the Halloween decor in the background?? Someone needs to clean out the shed & put that stuf where it belongs. On the plus side, the pool stuff on the far right will be coming out SOON!!!)

Day 101

Finally!! I started on my ironing. When I worked, we sent the shirts to the dry cleaners. Now, I feel I should be saving the $1.15 or whatever and do them myself. Well, I'm not sure I've ironed SINCE I quit work. 12 shirts! I got half done tonight. The rest can/will WAIT. I hope to finish them tomorrow while Scott watches baseball.

Day 70

After dinner, the kids wanted to go to the Library. Jack was standing at the front door (he ALWAYS wants to go outside but never gets to 'cause he's an INSIDE CAT!!!). I told him he couldn't go with us. Then, I said, why not? So, into the van he went!! He LOVES to ride in the car & loves to look out the windows. Maybe he thinks he's a dog??? He had a good time &, as it was a short trip, he didn't have any sort of kitty accident in the car!

(Becca took these pics while I was driving!)

Day 42

Today was the 100th day of school. The kindergarten had lots of 100 projects to do. I took this pic off 100 choc chip cookies in honor of the occasion. (the cookies will actually go to the Middle School for thier ISAT kick off. Former Gov Rod stopped us from selling cookies & cakes to elementary kids 'cause they are getting too fat. So, we can sell them fruit roll ups & gushers but no cookies. Go figure!)

Day 11

This is one of the most fabulous gifts I think I've ever rec'd. I got this from my boss (in addition to a GC from my lss!) Her hubby works for a local refinery & had gotten these tool kits for vicci & her daughter. Somehow he was able to get FIVE more of them for all of us girls at work. It is the coolest & has everything I could need. Yesterday, we got the new knobs for Becca's new dresser (needed ones that matched her desk better) and of course I needed a phillips screwdriver to replace them. The phillips that was actualy upstairs was so worn down, it wouldn't work. So, I went downstairs, got my handy dandy tool kit & had like 5 different choices of phillips screwdirvers. WOOHOO!!
Of course, I'm torn w/the idea of taking all the tools out & using this for a scrap tool kit! LOL
