Day 284

Columbus day, no school. Back during the summer, Becca won a $25 gift card to AMC theaters. There is not an AMC in town but there's one in Creve Couer, MO about 40 minutes away. Becca wanted to see Toy Story on the "big screen" so we went to the 1pm show today.

The movie came out when Becca was just a baby so the first time we saw it, it was on video. It was so different to see it at the theater. It's still completely amazing!! So realistic. The 3D was not that great and honestly, gave me a headache. Hope when it comes out on Blu Ray, it'll be "normal"! I'm not sure that these movies have come out on DVD. Even if they are, we hoping that when TS3 comes out next year, BD of 1 & 2 will come out then! Pixar ROCKS!!!!

Stamp Camp in Elsah today. I love the way the sun filters thru the trees. I love roads like this. I can't wait to see what these trees look like over the next few months.

Saw this little bloom while getting in the car. I don' t know where they came from but they are pretty. I love morning glories and would love to have them growing over the fence in the back yard.

While the Cubs were getting beaten by the Cards (boo, hiss) I made chocolate pie. I usually make Coconut but, as I'm the only one who will EAT coconut, I decided to be nice. I personally thought the chocolate was kinda boring. Scott & Becca loved it. Nick wouldn't eat it 'cause it had whipped cream on it. What kind of kid doesn't like whipped cream????

I bought a new fan today, took it out of the box, took the packaging off & set it on the kitchen counter. Mr. Nose into everything had already put his entire body into the bag before I could turn around. Big, dumb, goofy cat!!

Day 132

This is my weekly routine. Search the paper, try to find a job that I appear to be qualified for, send a resume & pretty much hope they don't call me. Not that I don't want a job, I NEED a job (I had to pay $2400 to fix my van!!) but I don't really want to find one until school starts. And then, I HAVE to have a job that lets me work from 8:30-2:00. I miss my old job!!! I'm still hoping & praying I can get on at the kids' school!!

Happy Easter Everybody!! This is a sound activated bunny. Whenever there is a loud noise, she goes off & starts singing.

We're not doing anything special today. We're going to grill today (if the grill has gas, Scott never "got around to" checking. The house needs cleaning & the kids need to get their heads around the fact they have to go back to school tomorrow!

The Room Princess Strikes Again! You'd have to go back to my "regular" blog to understand this. Today I had to make cookies for a special event. My boss suggested I throw some sprinkles on the sugar cookies since VD is 2 days away. (Cindi, I thought of you & your glitter comment as I sprinkled "glitter" all over these cookies.) Anyway, I thought why not make some for Sarah's class since they are room mother-less. So, I made pink & red cookies for them to have on Friday's party.

I had taken another pic for this blog. I encountered a deer while driving to work. He just sat there (or maybe it was a she?) and waited while I got my camera out, rolled down the window & took the pic. Unfortunately, this is what it looked like after it was cropped. As Erin would say, it's POOP!! SOMEONE PLEASE SHOW ME HOW TO TAKE PICS!

Day 12

Does it ever end??? Ok, so I got the fancy pants washer last Monday, did tons of laundry. I guess since the new washer has such a large capacity compared to the old one, I felt I couldn't do laundry until I could fill it. This is just 3 loads of laundry!! There are 3 more in the laundry room to be done & one more here!

Last night we watched Dirty Harry on blu-ray and I folded. And folded. AND FOLDED!!! That was a whole lotta folding. The sad party is, while it sat so peaceful overnight, more dirty stuff was created. It's an unending battle.

By the way, I do have some matching laundry baskets. LOL
