Day 357

Our Christmas Eve Tradition: McDonalds. Since I'm always the one to cook a big dinner for Christmas Day, I don't have the time (or the fridge space) for a big, fancy dinner on Christmas Eve. So, a few years ago the tradition was born. I'm sure the kids that have to WORK are not thrilled w/our tradition but my kids LOVE it (and all their friends are super jealous!!)

This year, the tradition almost had to be altered. Uncle Jack was coming in on Christmas Eve at 3:45 and bringing his new fiancee! It would be tight to make it to the airport, pick up Jack & Amy, get them to Scott's Mom, pick us up, get to McDs & eat before they closed at 6! Then, the unthinkable happened: Snow in Midland and Dallas!! The flight was delayed until 4:15. Then 5:11, then 6. Ok, we'll go BEFORE we pick them up! Worked out PERFECTLY. I got my pies baked & even had time to bake off all the rolls. Had our McDs and picked up Jack & Amy w/o any further problems.

Day 296

The carpet in Scott's office is wet. It STINKS too!!! No matter what we do, we can't get it dry (probably 'cause it just keeps raining & raining here). We finally decided that we had to pull the carpet up. The carpet came up fine, we put it in the garage to dry (we think we might be able to reuse it once the basement has been fixed. The pad, no such luck. It just came apart in our hands as we tried to pick it up. This is half the room, standing water! Now, we have to hope that it stops raining long enough to let this water dry (we did use a shop-vac & picked up over 5 gal of water!) and then rain again to see where the water is coming from. What a mess!!!

Day 267

Dental check up day. Oh the joy. I have not been as diligent as I should about flossing. After today, I will NEVER make that mistake again. Oh, the agony!!! She used some sort of aquasonic cleaner that was supposed to work "better" on my gums. It hurt SOOOOO bad!!! I will remember this pain & remember to floss daily!! On another note, Becca has her first cavity! By the time I was her age, I'd had 2 permanent teeth removed. She's depressed!

Day 236

It's boobie squishing day! More fun than a barrel of monkeys. But, I did it and I'm done for another year. Better safe than sorry!

Day 204

As if yesterday's fall reminder wasn't enough, here is a reminder that CHRISTMAS and winter's on it's way. I don't remember my holly bushes ever having this many berries this early. Maybe it's normal & my bushes have been too young in the past. I LOVE my holly bushes!!!
Can you see my watermark in the bottom right hand corner?? I just figured this out (thanks to the amazing Kristina Werner). Now, I can see me downloading TONS of brushes to make myself more coolio watermarks.

Day 144

This is the line to get into Night at the Museum II last night. Scott INSISTED that we go early 'cause it was opening weekend & it would be crowded. Well, it wasn't that crowded but they didn't let us in the the theater until like 5 minutes before the start.
The movie was ok. I wasn't thrilled by the first one and this one wasn't as good as the first. The kids liked it alot! I felt there were far too many new characters & none of them were well defined. Plus, they never explained what happened in the morning. That's all I'm going to say, don't want to give anything away. Oh well, I LOVE movies & popcorn!!!

Day 114

So, the first full day of 'palooza, I get up early to go jog the nature trails. It's so wonderful being out, one with nature. The morning sun, the birds, the gnats/mosquitoes, THE SNAKES???? ACK!! Oh, snakes are just one of joys of the outdoors & one of God's creatures.

Ok, those of you who know me can stop laughing now. No, I did not get up early to jog. I will NOT commune with nature if there are any other alternatives!!! I hate bugs & snakes!!! I got up, drove to McD's & had breakfast. Came back to the crop room & started playing!! Chelsea came in & said SHE had be jogging & saw this GIANT turtle on the path. She is going to go out & take a pic of it. I tell her to take my camera, I can say I was jogging & use it as my picture of the day. Well, the turtle is gone (I thought turtles moved slowly!!!) so she sees the snake & takes IT'S picture instead. LOL

Here is MY REAL pic! this is the crop room full of our stuff. Man, oh man! I have never seen so much stuff in one place. Maybe Archivers but they are better organized. LOL But, can you believe, with all this stuff, NO ONE had a AI tool??? Nancy was going to teach me about AI but no one had a tool. Poor Robyn went home & got hers & brought it back but I still never learned AI.

Day 83

I made the kids brownies yesterday. Scott doesn't like brownies. Scott DOES like oatmeal cookies. I don't particularly like oatmeal cookies. Somehow, I ate 5 before they had even cooled. It's ok, oatmeal's good for you, right?

Day 24

Here was the plan yesterday: I was going to the SU Open House, Scott was taking his mother shopping and the kids wanted to go with him. I was going to lunch w/my girlfriends, Scott could figure out what he wanted to do when lunchtime rolled around. I was going to spend the afternoon going thru my new catalouge and eating the coconut cream pie I brought home from Josephine's.

All went well until Scott got back to his mom's house and I was sitting down to look thru the catalouge. Scott calls me & his mom's computer was messed up. I tried to talk him thru it over the phone but it didn't work. So, I jump in the car, meet him there. We look at it together for awhile. He leaves (w/the kids and the $130 worth of junk he bought at WalMart. WHAT????) and stay another hour trying to figure her computer out. Never did happen. Now, I have to go back, call my bro in law while I'm there & try to see if I can find out why her desktop icons are in her "contacts" folder and why her internet favorites are missing. There ought to be an age limit for people to have computers!!!
ETA -- I finally ate the pie. It wasn't that great. I gotta stop BUYING pie when I know I can make better & its probalby CHEAPER. $6 for one piece of pie??? What was I thinking???
