Day 336

I've had these snowflakes for years but have never got around to putting them up. Finally, this year I did. I think I LOVE them!!!! I wish I had bought MORE.

Day 306

The moon rising while waiting for Nick to get out of basketball practice. The time change has really messed with my whole schedule!!

Day 275

We WON!!!! We won our first 2 games yesterday pretty easily (Becca only got to play in one game :( ) but the 3rd game against the Pekin Warriors was a KILLER. First game, we lost 23-25. Second game we scratched our way to a 25-22 victory. The way the tourney was set up, if you split the series, points counted to see who won. We won by one point!!!

First game today was against Twin Cities (Festus/Crystal City, MO) and I believe this is their first year to field a VB team. They are a decent team but we had more experience. Becca should have been able to play in this game but, for whatever reason, the coach didn't put her in.

Pekin came in 2nd in our pool & played the other #1 team and beat them! So, a rematch of last nights squeaker for the championship. We won the first game but lost the 2nd. That forced a game three. We assumed that it was to 15 as is the norm. We got to 14-13 and we tipped the ball over the net & they missed; yea, we win 15-13. Well, depth perception (& hope) makes you see things different. When we tipped, it went down on OUR side & the score was 14-14. A few minutes later, it was 17-15, we won! Uh, no. Since it was the championship, the game apparently it goes to 25. We finally won it, 25-20!!! Happiness ensues!

Dinner at Outback (celebration of the win & my b'day!) rounded out a perfect day!! We have 3 more games and then the state championship!!! Can't wait!!!

Here's the whole team & the "cheer boys" who came along to cheer the girls on to victory! (Notice, Nick's not there. He only came to the 2 games he was FORCED to. But, he wants to go to State 'cause he thinks he'll get to sit in the hotel all day playing video games. Won't be happening!!!)

Day 246

Today starts 3 days of nothing but volleyball!! The Bethel Tournament started today at 4pm. We played 3 sets and won them all in 2 straight! Becca didn't play much but that was ok. She's happy to be part of the team and I was happy I didn't have to worry about her getting a Volleyball Spiked down her throat (the other teams are GOOD!!!!) Tomorrow, we play the other 2 teams and then starts bracket play. We'll be at school ALL DAY!!

Day 214

We went to the mall across the highway from our hotel today. When we got back to the car, this is what it said. YIKES. I don't think it was really this hot (I didn't bother to notice what it was by the time we got to Outback for dinner!) but it was VERY WARM!!! I'm ready to move to Minnesota!!!

Day 184

This was a pretty yellow hibiscus growing in front of a local business. I'm guessing it's a different type of hibiscus than what we have as the stems were very thick & woody. Plus, it had a bloom where ours hasn't bloomed in WEEKS!!

Day 154

My cat is a slug! Our previous cat, Mandy, was very particular about where she would sleep. She had to be up against a wall so no one could come up behind her. Jack is not so particular. Wherever he is, if he gets tired, he "schlumps" (Nick's word for him just plopping down wherever he's at) Today, he was walking across the coffee table in the basement (usually, this is a no-no but, it's become his usual route from the window in front to the sliding glass door in the back). Apparently, the walk was just to much for him & he schlumped right where he was. Silly cat!

Day 123

My SU markers. I didn't want to buy them but, since everyone else loved thiers, I decided I needed them too. They sat for nearly 2 years. Late last year (or was it early this year) I finally learned to use them with the Aquapen. Now, they are my FAVORITE coloring medium. Plus, they look really cool in the box!

Day 93

This is Steve. Steve is somekind of monkey type animal. Steve is BIG. Steve creates a stir wherever he goes. He's been to the hospital twice for Nick's surgeries. He's gone to school with me (even a stuffed monkey could do my job) and he's gone on every vacation since Nick got him. I'm pretty sure this was Nick's first stuffed monkey. He now has about 15 or so. While Nick is too "old" or stuffed animals, Steve still sleeps on his bed. I really think he's more of a pillow now. LOL

Day 62

This was NOT what I had planned to buy today but, I got word from WD that the error message my External Hard Drive was giving me was that it was about to crash. Since this is the ONLY copy of my pictures, I felt I HAD to replace it immediately!! The fact that I had a $50 Best Buy Gift Card made it a whole lot easier to swallow. Hopefully, this one will work better than the last. It was only 13 months old. I'll give it to my bro to see what is really wrong with it & if he can fix it. If he can, I'll have PLENTY of space for more pics!

January 3rd, the resolution falls???

Ok, remeber when I said I was gonna take a pic a day & journal. Well, I failed already. I MEANT to take pics of Scott taking down the outside lights yesterday but, I didn't. I could give a dozen valid reasons but, that defeats the whole purpose, right??? I mean, technically, I DID take a pic of the ugly green ornament but, that's not what the whole project was about, right??

So, this morning, I got up early & took this pic. I think it'll work for my journalling about my feelings about the end of Christmas. I wish I could take artsy pics. I know this could look so much better but.... Oh well. I have half my C'mas stuff down: downstairs tree is down & most of the downstairs decor is down. Unfortunately, none of the "normal' stuff is up nor is any of the Snowman stuff up. I could do it tonite or look for the stamp sets I wanted to put on eBay or work on a swap or watch TV & go to bed early (gotta get ready for back to school! ICK!)
