Day 341

I'm getting a HAM for Christmas???? Actually, I'm fairly certain it's my new tape dispenser gun! Rumor has it that they come wrapped only in bubble wrap, not box. But, I still think it looks like a giant ham.

Day 311

Is this the last of the pretty leaves?? Some sort of rose kinda flower that is technically on my neighbors property but since the branches and thorns always attack me when I'm trying to mow, I'm claiming the pretty leaves as MINE!!!

Day 280

This looked much better in real life. This is the view from my front porch at about 7am.

Day 251

Today I have visit 2 of 3 for my root canal. You might remember back in February when this whole thing started. I was supposed to have the 2nd visit in July but forgot the date & happened to be in Spfld MO when they called to see if I could come in 2 days early. So, we had to reschedule for today :(
I love my dentist but HATE having any work done! So, this time, to keep me from freaking out & forgetting how to breathe, she decided to give me drugs to keep me calm. I'm not really sure how well they worked. She was able to get the work done & I don't recall passing out. She gave me gas & I was tense but I guess it went well. Refill for the final portion (the crown) two days before T'giving. JOY!

Day 219

Stamp Camp day!!! Yes, after getting home late yesterday I still got up at the crack of dawn to be at Sue's at 8am for cards!! Here is another building in Elsah. I love this "town" and how quaint the houses look. And, fall is coming. Maybe next month, I'll get some trees that are changing!

Day 189

Is it dead??? This is the hydrangea I planted this year. I'm thinking it's getting too much sun?? I see some new leaves but I'm not sure it's going to make it. Next year, I'm planting SUNFLOWERS! If they get too much sun, I'm planting bricks the year after!!!

Day 159

Hmmm, the more I look at this, the less like pizza it looks & the more like lasagna. It really is homemade pizza and it really was GOOD!! Now that I have the proper tools (PC stone & roller) I LOVE making home-made pizza.

Edited to add: Scott informed me last night that he's a little tired of pizza. HUH??? I'm starting to think he doesn't know what he's talking about!

Day 128

We had some funky weather yesterday. Very hot & humid. Then, last night, we had some HEAVY storms with lots of hail. This is what we woke up to this morning. Heavy fog. It's cleared off & now it's just rain & gloom. My favorite kind of day. As long as the power stays on!! Good thing I got all the yard work done yesterday!!

Day 98

Zoo, zoo, zoo, zoo! We love the zoo! We are sooooo lucky to have such a fabulous zoo in St. Louis. And the greatest part, it's FREE!!! No admission, we could go everyday if we wanted. We were talking to an employee yesterday to see how long the zoo had been there. It was "chartered" in 1910, 6 years after the World's Fair where the Flight Cage came from (now it's home to a "swamp" of some sort; we didn't got there yesterday). She was saying that the guys who created the charter were VERY SMART COOKIES!! They drafted it in such a way that there are NO LOOPHOLES to ever allow them to charge admission. She said that a couple of years ago they had lawyers go over the charter w/a fine tooth comb and they could find no way around the "free for life" clause! Yea Zoo Founders!!

On to the pic. I took 355 pics at the zoo yesterday but I'm only going to post one. This statue has been at the zoo at least since Becca was born. I have pics of her first zoo trip in front of this statue/foutain & EVERY TIME we go, we take another pic. Some day, I'll have to do a collage-y thing of the kids at the zoo thru the years.

Something interesting: Scott was out of town this week so the kids & I went alone (yes, I got lost in Forest Park since highway 40 is shut down & I couldn't figure out the "back way" into the zoo!). Apparently, we are much more leisurely and don't quite care if we see EVERY STINKIN' animal in the zoo. We went to see what we wanted & didn't go to the ones we didn't. Scott wants to see everything & heaven forbid we stop to rest or take pics. We had alot of fun!!! And got ColdStone Creamery after. YUM!!!

Day 67

Daylight Savings Time. One word: ICK!!! I really don't like DST. I don't like losing time, I don't like the sun being up so late (not that it's up THAT late now) I don't like having to change all our clocks!! Why is it that cell phones & computers and some VCR/DVDs can change and the rest of them can't. Argh!

Day 39

CLEAN!!! I finally broke down & washed the van (Scott has the car in KC, MO). It looks so pretty. It's supposed to rain tonite but, at least the top layer of crud is OFF!!

Day 8

...it's time for snow!! We found this adorable snowman at a Hallmark store after Christmas. Isn't he so cute!! Now, the snowflake lights are LED lights. Kinda burns a hole in your retina if you look at them too long. I really don't like the way the string of snowflakes looks on the banister but I'm not sure what else to do w/it. I'd like to get some sort of garland & then drape it so the flakes don't stick out so much. But, it's lights & lights make me happy!!!
